After the election of the new freshmen and junior batch representatives and the appointment of a Councilor for Secretariat, the School of Economics Student Council (SESC) 2010 – 2011 is now set to go full force to turn on the econ!

Freshemen Stefanie Su and JP delas Nieves, plus junior Carissa Sta. Maria and senior Miguel Ruffy are joining the ranks of the erstwhile sixteen officers, following the elections and appointment held in the last two weeks of June.

Last June 23, Stef and JP bested three others, earning 64 and 42 votes respectively from a total of 101. Ruffy was also proclaimed Secretariat Councilor following a vote of 6-5 among present SESC officers.

On June 29 meanwhile, Car was elected with a decisive 69-3 win against abstention.

The positions of Junior Batch Representative and Councilor for Secretariat were vacated following the resignation of Horace Cimafranca and Noreen Apuhin.

Horace and Noreen have since been appointed as Freshmen Ad Hoc Chairperson and Volunteer Corps Ad Hoc Chairperson respectively.

As of this writing, the SESC is still searching for a Graduate School Representative. Interested MA or PhD students of the School may approach any SESC officer or Tita Connie of SE 101 for inquiries.

Meanwhile, the new officers are now gearing up for the upcoming batch month and Schoolympics preliminaries!
